Summary:  The Ruins of Gorlan (book one in the series)  is about a boy named will who starts his journey in the fantasy world of the Kingdom of Araluen. Will is an orphan who learns about his past and his parents, while a war is about to happen, people get selected for academies such as becoming a chef (cooking school), fighting school (becoming a knight), strategic council (making plans for war)

Their was one more but almost no one made it into that academy that was being a ranger.

Will wanted to become a knight, but he was too small… some how he became ranger.

A war was coming and a ranger's job was to find out what the enemy is doing and lead the soldiers into war.

Summary

This story is about True facts and interesting stuff describing 

trains. I've learnt a lot of facts just reading this book 

for e.g some trains need coal to keep the engine running.

This story is about back in 1400's when Rome use t have

emperor's (king) and one of the emperor's decided

to construct a battle arena which was called the great Colosseum

this arena was used for Roman's that were traitors. So the traitors had to choose if they want to be a slave for the rest of there lives,

or risk your life training and becoming a gladiator to fight in

the Colosseum.
