Summary
The book I have read is Holes. Holes is about a kid named Stanley Yelnats, who has been mistaken for a crime that he did not commit. Stanley is on his way to a boy’s juvenile detention centre which is called Camp Green Lake.
Stanley must dig a hole everyday even Saturday and Sunday, breakfast is at 4:30. ‘The longer it takes you to dig, the longer you will be out in the sun. If you dig up anything interesting, you are to report any other counsellor . When you finish, the rest of the day is yours.
So Stanley gets on with it. He learns how to dig his holes. He tries not to annoy anyone. He even forms a  friendship with one of them, Zero.
Zero and Stanley run away from the camp and they both find refuge on GOD’S thumb, were they eat unions and drink some-what clean water for a few days. Stanley and Zero decide to go back to camp and dig one more hole because Stanley is feeling lucky. They both start digging and eventually Stanley hears a different sound when he starts hitting the wall. They find a treasure within the dirt wall.
I think you will really enjoy this book. It’s an adventure and a mystery, with moments of high suspense, with a happy ending.
I rate this book a 5/5
